Attractive ivy-clad pub on the outskirts of the village, on the road to the old Parkfield Colliery (closed in 1936). There are five distinct areas. A public bar at the front on the right. A snug on the left leading to another small drinking area at the front (both of these are the original bars and retain traditional features). A main bar area leading to a restaurant area at the back. Fires lit in most bars depending on weather. Extensive car park, garden and children's play area at the back.
