Maypole

Opening hours

The last pub remaining in Yapton, this small C18th flint-built free house of character is hidden away from the village centre down a narrow lane ending in a pedestrian crossing over the railway, 1.2 miles east of Barnham station. The cosy lounge is often lively, with a woodburning stove in a large inglenook at one end, and a row of 6 handpumps dispensing up to 5 beers of which 3 are rotating and usually from small local breweries. There is also a traditional public bar with pool and darts plus a skittle alley/function room with bar billiards. Real cider is dispensed from boxes in the cellar, while fresh rolls are served lunchtimes. Dogs are welcome. 66A/66C bus stops at end of lane 270 yds away; 700 in village ¾ mile away.
