Red Shoot Inn

Opening hours

Originally a farmhouse, this large inn only opened in 1964. Up to six real ales are available, of which up to four are brewed in-house. The large single bar is simply furnished, with lots of wood. Children, dogs and muddy boots are all welcome. At one end is the small brewery, easily viewed though a large window; at the other end is a raised area meant mainly for diners. Good varied pub food is served every session, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays, school holidays and in summer. There are good views of woods to the south and the moorland of Ibsley Common to the north. The pub's remote location plus an adjacent campsite make this a great base for exploring the north-western part of the New Forest. Summer evening entertainment includes a Thursday quiz and live music on Sundays; and beer festivals are held in April, July and October.
