Talbot Arms

Opening hours

Dating originally from 1642 and claiming to be the oldest pub in town, this family run free house is a bright welcoming place to drink. There's a large stone feature fireplace to the left of the main entrance and pool table, dartboard, and dominoes tables. To the rear, the large terraced beer garden is a good place to soak up any summer sun. The three changing beers (only two in winter) tend to be from Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire and at least one beer brewed by a second Settle beer is usually available in addition to the Mainline. One dark beer is always available, usually a stout, a porter or Theakston Old Peculier. Good value food is served 12-8 seven days a week - booking isnrecommended at weekends. Traditional Sunday lunches are served on Sundays 12-6 or until they run out if earlier. A 'bingo quiz' is held on the first and third Monday of each month. Key sporting events are sometimes shown on the television in the games area, if they are available on terrestrial channels. Darts, dominoes and pool teams usually play Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The pub stays open until 11 if the teams are playing (and on Mondays if it is quiz night.)
