NOTE: (December 2021) Because of increased demand due to Covid restrictions on people travelling abroad, Malham gets very busy at weekends. As the Lister Arms is still operating table service only, at busy times (especially weekends from mid-afternoon onwards) walk-ins may not be possible - check with the 'meet and greet' staff on the door. If wishing to dine at such times, please make a table booking in advance. Substantial stone Grade II listed inn dating from 1723 or earlier, overlooking the village green. Named after the Lister family, who owned the Manor of Gisburn, twelve miles to the south. The tiled entrance hall opens to the stone-flagged main bar area, warmed by a log-burning stove, with two separate areas to left and right. There is also a separate dining room/restaurant, The large secluded garden at the rear has ample comfortable seating and views towards the cove. The well-stocked bar has a good selection of malt whiskies and gins. Home-made cakes, cream teas and luxury hot chocolate are also available. Breakfast is served 8-10 am, brunch from 10 to midday and the main menu is available thereafter. Malham can get very busy at weekends and in school holidays. Booking advisable for evening meals in summer. Nutty Black (Dark) may not be available in the winter months.
