Two-roomed local situated at the eastern end of village, half a mile from the Leeds-Liverpool canal. The large outdoor area has extensive views of the Aire Valley. The main 'horse brass and wooden beam' style lounge has an open fireplace and real fire. The separate cosy back room is adorned with sporting photos, mainly of the local cricket teams which are based at the pub - you can watch games from the garden. Well-behaved children are permitted early doors or if eating. Good value food is available - booking is advisable at weekends and in summer. Quiz last Wednesday of the month. A Timothy Taylor Champion Club member. Look out for the Barnsley Brewery Oakwell Ales sign (which did not originate here) in the garden.
