Known to locals as "The Crix", this free-house in the lower part of Baildon has an elevated position surrounded by open grassland and with views to the historic Salts Mill. Baildon cricket club used to play on the adjacent grassland from 1850-1914, hence, the name of the pub. The pub comprises an open, light and spacious all round room with stone floors and a central bar. A beer garden with real grass is to the side. It is popular for sports, games and gambling as a result of the sports TV, bingo & quizzes (Thu & Sun) and poker nights. Family fun days are often held on a weekend. When the weather is nice the pub often puts on a kid's karaoke & disco and a bouncy castle. Breakfasts are available on Saturdays and Sundays until 1pm. Real ales are sold at reduced prices before 7pm.
