This is an Old English Inns pub, the Greene King hotel chain. The wooden panels, beams and soft lighting make the place look far older than it really is. Opened in 1982, many of the structural features came from a stately home in Kenilworth. The place is open plan but is sufficiently sprawling to feel like separate rooms. A tidy patio area allows for al fresco drinking. Amazingly for a Greene King operation, it sometimes runs out of the cask ales.
