Set in a conservation area and dating from 1595 it still retains many original features. Now opened up to merge the saloon and public bars leaving a horseshoe shaped bar and the back room has been incorporated to give a dining area for lunches. There is a warming fire in winter. The function room is the Old School Room across the yard where darts are played every Wednesday and Sunday. Quizzes alternate Sunday evenings and there is a golf society. The pub has an active live music venue and features lunchtime Jazz every Wednesday and at least one Friday a month
