Extensive renovations have taken place during the Covid lockdowns in this traditional, welcoming inn with wood-burning stoves, candlelit areas and vintage atmosphere, offering a changing selection of five quality ales from local and national breweries. Guest Ales from Hambleton are often featured.
A separate dining area provides home-made food with locally sourced produce and the daily menu is provided by the owner (since 2011) who is also the chef (his pork pies come highly recommended). Families with their children are welcome in the dining room till 9pm. Table booking for food is recommended.
Dogs are welcome in the bar but are asked to be kept on a leash during busy times.
Planning permission has been granted for an in-house micro brewery to brew beer exclusively for the pub.
