Moorfield House Hotel

Small, family run hotel overlooking Highland Games ground at the edge of this historic village. New Duke of Rothesay Heritage Centre adjacent to Highland Games ground was opened by Prince Charles in August 2018. Present owners took over in January 2016 and hours vary depending on season and weather, particularly in the ski season. Check the website, Facebook and/or phone in advance. If required, meals can often be arranged outwith the fairly restricted official times by prior arrangement. Saturday and Sunday bar opening times largely dictated by televised sporting events but usually open by 3pm on Saturday and 1:30 pm on Sunday. Again, check in advance on Facebook etc. Local ukelele club meet here on Friday nights from 7-9pm. Four ever changing ales served, sometimes just three in winter (in pins). Cairngorm and Swannay are amongst suppliers. Offers lowest priced and finest conditioned ales in the area but has still come under severe competition from larger, recently re-opened outlets in the village.
